She's Naked

My world is black and white. No color anywhere I look. I'm wearing a 50's style dress with a floral print. Hair is in a high ponytail and I'm walking down a long sidewalk with no idea where I'm walking to. I hear the swooshing of my dress against my knees. I see a couple walking towards me and as they pass the man looks at me in amazement and the woman looks disgusted. I pull my eyebrows in unsure of why I'm being looked at in such a strange manner. I continue walking hearing the swoosh of my dress. I shake of the feeling that I have a huge booger hanging out of my nose or something. I pull my hand up to check feeling nothing.

I jump when I hear a car honk loudly as they pass. A young man leans out the window of a mercury coupe and screams, "Yeah Baby!!" Okay, now I'm extremely confused. Was that guy yelling at me? And why am I in the 1950's? Everything is black and white and I no longer hear the swooshing of my dress brushing across my knees.

I glance down and well I'm stark naked standing on a sidewalk. People are all around me laughing and pointing. I try to cover myself with my hands when I feel the warmth of a coat being placed on my shoulders. I grip the jacket and pull it tight to cover my bare chest. I'm frozen in shock but am somehow being pulled off the street and into a diner of sorts.

I see coca-cola signs hanging on the wall with tables and chairs placed neatly around the room. There's a bar with quaint little bar stools, and a jukebox in the corner. I turn and see a James Dean look a like or maybe it is James? I don't know but he saved me from further humiliation. I start to thank him but he's talking to me and asking if I know what happened to my clothes. I try to remember but can't. He reaches out and touches my hand. He's so unbearably handsome and has such concern in his eyes. He says to me sweetly, "A pretty girl such as yourself should have enough sense not to walk around in broad day light naked?" Well obviously I think to myself. Why can't I seem to find my tongue and speak to my rescuer? I'm so frustrated that I can't make a sound. I sit down in a chair close by and drop my head into my hands trying to make some sense of this.

When I look up with determination to speak I'm not in the little diner anymore I'm sitting on a bench at the end of my driveway which definitely doesn't make any sense because my driveway is out in the middle of nowhere and has no need for a bench. Am I waiting for someone? I look up and down the road and see a tumbleweed roll across the dry wasteland of nothingness. I hear hoof beats and look back in the other direction. A horse ridden by a man with a black cowboy hat comes racing toward me surrounded by a cloud of dust. I jump up off the bench and throw my hands up to block the lasso from hitting me but instead it slips over my head and tightens around my bare waist. Wait! My bare waist? Oh, no! I'm still naked and jacketless! In the instant that I realize I'm naked, I'm also being hoisted up onto the saddle in front of this dirty cowboy. I scream and cough as I inhale dust. I'm belly flat laying over the front of the horse bouncing around like a rag doll.

I try to move to sit up but I feel his hand press into the middle of my back holding me in place. This is terrifying because all I can see are the hoofs of the horse and dust which is beginning to choke and blind me. Suddenly we stop and I'm jerked upright to face my fiance. He's so handsome and tan looking like a rough and tough cowboy out of a Clint Eastwood movie. I smile and hug him but he pushes me away and looks quizzically at me. "Do you have rocks for brains 'lil lady?", he says. "No, I do not!," I scream in his face, "you are the one who scooped me up like I'm some animal!" He interrupted before I could say anymore, "You were running naked across that there field acting like someone was out to kill ya." He looked alarmed, "I helped you, or thought I was helping you?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about!" I was so confused I just wanted to pull out my hair. My handsome cowboy took off his shirt, which was awfully nice of him to do and offered it to me so I could cover myself. This was the second time a handsome guy had covered my nakedness, but why am I naked?

As I thought about this I feel a change in the atmosphere and I am falling. Falling off the horse? No.... falling down a dark hole? I scream out my fiance's name and flail my naked arms and legs around trying to grab at something to break my fall. I'm going to die.

I open my eyes and sit straight up in bed scared to death and reach beside me to feel my fiance sleeping soundly beside me. Wow, me and my crazy dreams.

I had this dream the night before last and thought I would share to the best of my memory. :)

A Man, No Face

It is my wedding day. I realize this as I look down at my hands and see I am wearing a long white gown. A fog is around my face so at first I am unsure where I am. Then faces begin to take shape and I see my friends and family all around me. I'm in the entry way of a church. I hear a bell dinging above me, no doubt signaling my special day.

I see friends that I went to high school with, one standing out is my friend Sarah. She looks so different than I remember her. Sarah used to have long black glossy hair but now its cropped short with pink tips. On her arm is my first love, another strange observation since I always thought they hated each other. Sarah smiles and walks over to me I notice her breasts, they are large and fake! How bizarre.

I also see people who are high in social status. The governor, a few well do to politicians, and very rich looking celebrities. I must be marrying someone very important?

I am suddenly being pulled away and toward the double doors ahead of me. I look to my right and left and the crowd that was once around me has disappeared. I look down at my gown to see that my feet are moving me forward down an aisle. A beautiful red silk aisle runner covered with red and white roses unfolds under my bare feet. I keep my eyes down as I get closer to the end, I see stairs and my eyes slowly inch up a pair of long legs clad in tuxedo pants. I see his lapel and feel butterflies flutter in my stomach as I get closer to his face.

Lovely music plays and then I wake up, never knowing who my intended is.

The Woman Around the Bend

It was a cold night. My mother was driving us home from somewhere, their were babies crying in the backseat which made little sense because I am the eldest of only two children. My mother is singing crazy by Patsy Cline that was playing on the static of the radio.

I look over at my mother, I can only make out a side profile in the darkness. She is pregnant and large looking extremely close to her date of delivery. I am shocked by this since I have no idea how she became pregnant in a matter of seconds. She turns to me and says, "Honey, will you please quiet those children." I turn around in my seat to try and sooth the child directly behind me, but it only screams louder.

I then hear my mother whimper and say, "Oh my goodness, theirs a woman in the road!" I swivel my head to look keeping my hand on the infant in the backseat. We are rounding a turn, a turn I know very well. We're about to cross the bridge getting closer the the dark figure. The woman my mother and I are seeing has long white hair and wearing only a long black coat. Her pasty face appears in the headlights as she turns to face the approaching car.

I'm frightened and have a terrible feeling. I say to my mother, "Please let's not stop." She does not hear me and stops the car. I'm still trying to quieten the upset children.

My mother puts the car in park and opens the door, I watch nervously as she approaches the old lady. In a matter of seconds the old woman's face turns from pasty white and scared to demonic. She shoves my mother on the ground pulls a large butcher knife from her coat and cuts my mother's stomach open. I watch in horror as she pulls the baby from my mother's womb and runs off into the night laughing hysterically.

This is an account of what I remember from a dream I first had when I was 15 years old.
